Trump’s latest tirade against the media has left him reeling
Trump’s attack on the press came to a head Thursday morning, as he took aim at the media’s reporting on his immigration order.
Trump accused the media of lying about the order, calling it a “scam” and saying it was “not a great thing to do.”
“They are lying about it.
I think they’re lying about a lot of things,” Trump said at a rally in Virginia.
“I think it’s a terrible thing to have to do with a country that’s being treated badly by the press, and a lot about the press is lying, and that’s the truth.”
Trump’s comments came after a group of reporters including The Associated Press reported that the White House had told them that there were no changes in the plan as of Tuesday afternoon.
“We have no changes,” Spicer said.
Trump also took aim on social media at The Associated News and CNN, accusing the networks of being “very biased.”
He called the news outlets “very dishonest” and said the networks “have been lying to the American people for years.”
“I’ve been told, ‘The media is going to report this and it’s going to be very good,'” Trump said.
“But it’s not going to happen, because it’s fake news.
And we’re going to fix it.”
